Program Description The Powerhour Homework help program is designed by Boys & Girls Clubs of America and is offered in two places at our facility. For our members ages 7-12. We offer the program in our education room, and it is facilitated by Karen Espaillat. Karen, along with college and high school aged volunteers, work alongside our members to help them complete their homework and understand any materials they may not have understood in school. We also offer the program in our teen center for our high school ages members. This program is facilitated by Diana Regus, and is supported by adult volunteers and some college aged volunteers. Those who participate in this homework have opportunities to be recognized for their academic performance throughout the club, as well as receive invitations to quarterly parties at the club.

Program Schedule This program runs throughout the school year for ages 7-18

We have program staff available to assist with homework.

What to Bring Membership applications ask for Medical information, Emergency contact information, and we require a copy of the birth certificate for children who are 7 years old. Families who are requesting a scholarship should be prepared to provide proof of hardship or income.

Parking Side lot, back lot, or police parking lot next door (please use main entrance when parking in this lot)
Transportation The Department of transportation provides members with a ride from most school to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell. This must be arranged through the Department of Transportation, as they track the number of seats available on the bus. The bus stop is located directly in front of our building. There is no transportation available to the child's home at night.

Child Care Provided Not Applicable. The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell is not a child care agency.
Wait List Yes. The Summer Program does require payment of $10.00 to reserve a spot for the week. (The cost of the program is $10.00 per week) We will put members on the wait list if the Summer Program is full for a particular week.

Volunteer Opportunities Yes. Adult volunteers should email Gail Casey at gcasey@lbgc.org to inquire about upcoming volunteer opportunities. Youth or High School aged students are encouraged to volunteer at the club daily, though they must first become members of the BOys & Girls Club Program.
